My Story
Welcome to my space, a little corner where resilience meets ambition, and where every challenge morphs into an opportunity. I'm known as Mama Hustlez, a testament to my unwavering spirit and tenacity. As a single mother to two remarkable young adults, aged 17 and 19, I've navigated the twists and turns of life with a blend of grace and grit. My children, both thriving at our local community college, are my pride and joy, blossoming into remarkable individuals under the homeschooling journey we embarked on during their high school years.
My life's narrative is one of perpetual motion. Holding down a full-time job in the rigid landscape of corporate America, I've often likened my pursuit of professional growth to softening a brick wall – challenging yet not impossible. In parallel, I've juggled multiple gigs – from Uber, Lyft, Shipt, Walmart Spark, Landing, to DoorDash – embodying the essence of a hustler. Entrepreneurship runs in my veins, having steered several LLCs including Turo and Mocha Maids, my cleaning company. These ventures have taught me invaluable lessons, both sweet and bitter, shaping my resilience and business acumen.
Academically, I've fortified my arsenal with an Undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance and a Master's degree in Project Management. I'm also a certified Scrum Master, a credential that mirrors my passion for organized, agile approaches to challenges.
October 2023 marked a pivotal moment in my journey. I was laid off from my corporate role alongside many talented colleagues – a blow that shook me to the core. As a single mom, juggling the financial burden of my children's college fees and grappling with $245K in student loans, I knew a seismic shift was necessary. The familiar path of corporate America no longer beckoned me.
Today, I stand at the cusp of a thrilling new chapter. I'm diving headfirst into a career as a commercial truck driver, an endeavor that resonates with my love for the open road and new beginnings. Concurrently, I'm nurturing my blog, a platform where I chronicle my journey and embrace the winds of change.
My story is one of transformation, of leveraging the skills honed through my side gigs to ascend in corporate settings, and now, charting an entirely new course.
